Joseph R. (Joe) Bronson is currently Chief Executive Officer and Principal of, The Bronson Group , LLC., a business advisory group focused on operational and financial consulting. He formed The Bronson Group, LLC. in 2012. He has business advisory arrangements with Skywater Semiconductor, a US foundry semiconductor headquartered in Minnesota, Graph Audio, a developer of next generation audio solutions based on graphene material headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and Cynora, a manufacturer of emitter materials for the display industry based in Germany. He is also an advisor and board member of Solayer, an equipment company based in Germany and Taiwan in the advanced optical applications area. He has been an adviser to AMEC, a semiconductor equipment company, based in Shanghai, China since 2008.
From 2009 to March 2010 he was the CEO and President of Silicon Valley Technology Corporation (“SVTC”) an outside provider of product development foundry services to the semiconductor industry.
Prior to SVTC, he previously served as the President and Chief Operating Officer and Director of Sanmina-SCI, Corporation, a leading electronics contract manufacturer.
Prior to joining Sanmina-SCI, Joe served as Co-Chief Executive Officer, and President of FormFactor, a leader in the manufacture of probe cards for the semiconductor test industry, from November 2004 to January 2007 and as a director since April 2002.
Prior to FormFactor, Joe spent 21 years at Applied Materials, Inc. He was also Executive Vice President of Applied Materials from December 2000 to October 2004, and the Chief Financial Officer since January 1998. Joe served as Senior Vice President from January 1998 to December 2000, and as Group Vice President from April 1994 to January 1998. Throughout his career at Applied Materials he held various positions in product division general management, global manufacturing and supply chain responsibility.
Joe currently serves on the board of PDF Solutions as the lead director, a public company listed on NASDAQ, a leader provider of semiconductor yield improvement technologies and data analytics for the semiconductor industry. Joe joined the board of Graph Audio in August 2021, a development stage enterprise engaged in the development of graphene materials with focus on audio equipment. He had served on the board of Maxim Integrated Products for 12 years. Maxim Integrated was acquired by Analog Devices in August, 2021. He is a retired independent director of Jacobs Engineering, an enterprise solutions based engineering and construction company based in Dallas, Texas where he served for 17 years retiring in January 2021.
Joe currently serves as a Regent at Santa Clara University and Loyola Marymount University. He had been a member of the Board of Trustees of Fairfield University until February, 2021. He is a past Chair of the Board of Trustees of Bellarmine Preparatory School in San Jose, California and continues to sit on the board. He is also the Chair of the Advisory Board of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.
Joe is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fairfield University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. He was inducted into the University of Connecticut Business School Hall of Fame in May 2006.
